Num Lock is a keyboard layout file for system 7. This is written by Mr. Masaaki Takahashi who lives in Sapporo, Japan. This keyboard layout is especially designed for use with new Macintosh Powerbook computers.
* Functionality
While caps lock is on, UIO become 456, JKL become 123, and M becomes 0. While caps lock is off, it is just same as the standard US layout.
* Installation
Just drag the file named 'Num Lock ' onto the system folder. You will be noticed that the file will be placed in the system file. Just click OK.
* How to Turn On
Open the 'Keyboard' control panel and click 'Num Lock '. You may want to confirm the keyboard layout by running 'Key Caps' DA.
* Notice
- You cannot type capital letters of UIOJKLM while caps lock is on.
- While holding down shift key without turning on the caps lock, the key layout remains on the usual layout so that you can type capital letters of UIOJKLM.
- This software adds some resources to the system. There may be some side effects(i.e. INIT conflict). It runs on System 7.0 and 7.0.1. By the way, it is not guaranteed to run on the future system.
